Channel Island Guernsey Donkey Proud Liberation 1945 Flag. Kicking Donkey Guernsey Flag.
The flag design is a representation of the liberation in 1945, in the Bailiwick of Guernsey Channel Islands, when the liberating force 135 finally freed the island from the occupying German forces. The original painting showed a german boot soldier being kicked off the island by the stubborn donkeys (the locals), representing the true resilient and strong spirit of the Guernsey people. The boot solder was replaced showing a stubborn kicking donkey with both official and unofficial flags represented, as it was more politically correct.
